So…there’s another chapter coming soon? Maybe I should start watching The Sopranos; I like Supernatural, Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, and (now) True Blood. I even rewatched Supernatural with my dad because he was watching it too slowly.

I would say yes. The Sopranos = classic. Another one of those shows where I was angry that I’d been late to the party. You know those moments of: why didn’t any of you tell me to watch this years ago?

I have one scene completed, another halfway done, and the third is in pieces and notes. I’m still working out how long this one will be, though, and how many scenes are going to be relevant to include. These three for sure, but I’m becoming more sold on the idea that putting off the next “flashback” wouldn’t be as effective as one particular spot between these scenes that I could write it in.

I always have the next several chapters outlined and planned already—it’s just a matter of actually doing the writing.

Oh, I know those moments well, the most memorable of which occurred sometime during the first season of Arrested Development. If The Sopranos is anywhere near as good as AD, I’ll have to get on it right away. Have you seen Deadwood, by the way? I think you’d like it. I’m only on the second season (out of three), but it’s fantastic so far. It’s about a mining camp during the gold rush, but the complexity of the themes and ensemble of morally ambiguous characters remind me of Boardwalk Empire. The language is fantastic, too - it’s renowned for its frequent and creative use of profanity, but despite (and sometimes because of) that, the dialogue is so eloquent and lyrical that it’s often described as Shakespearean. I highly recommend it.

Ahh, we should have gone together; I just went by myself! I live in London when I’m at school (UCL), but I’m on an interruption of study this term, so I’m home in California now. If anbb come to London and you can’t find anyone to go with you, I WILL. Are you on LJ too? I’m really new to Tumblr and haven’t yet worked out which people overlap.

aw man! yes yes, i REALLY hope they announce some more dates soon. i have one to lurk comms with, and do actually have things for F_S when i get my act together and finish them… 

Oh, it worked, thanks! I suck at this. I’ve been trying to write something for f_s too, but I’m so uncreative when it comes to thinking of plots. (I have a Word document open right now called “fic ideas,” and it has maybe five lines on it. I also have another one with snippets of scenes, but they don’t go to anything yet.) Also, every time I try to write anything I end up getting frustrated with how my sentences don’t turn out the way I want them to. I’m hopelessly addicted to overusing adverbs.

ANBB might announce more dates soon; they’ve been announcing them through Europe recently! They can’t avoid London forever.

I feel creepy for asking this, but did you go see Jochen Arbeit play there last fall? There were a couple groups of youngish people there who looked like Neubauten fans, and I wanted to talk to them, but I didn’t. I agree that anbb should come to London, but I’ll be so upset if it’s before I go back to school in September. I’m terrified that they’re going to disband before I get the chance to see them (like Grinderman).
